(The Sun Room is about sun communication, travel and transience, poetry and foreign ideas. Essential spirit as guided by or in communion with the sun. It is the crown chakra, and no other chakra. It’s about eternal summer but in a conscious way, a global warming way. A reverence for the earth that can take us back to our root desires. It’s about having a personal connection with ecology or struggling to have it when you don’t see ecology. But it’s also about a mailman on the mountainside who simply gets his job done before arriving home to dinner with his family. It’s about living simply and slowly and maybe without all your resources intact. It’s about my childhood, or about displacement. It’s about feeling towards nature. Not just fighting for it, being an activist or a scientist or a farmer or an ecofeminist, but about feeling torn about it. Far from it or close to it, or longing for it. It’s about voices in nature that are louder and more powerful but are becoming more distant and difficult to hear.
It’s about primalness and the original creators and original land dwellers. It’s about ancestry and fire. It’s about her molten hair and her brassy endeavors. It’s about her force and our witnessing. It’s about us being flammable and her having a magma core)
